4. Proposals for Colossal Photo-Sculptures
Model for Colossal Sculpture based on Harold Edgerton’s high speed photograph of the first nano-sceond of an atomic bomb test. Built by sculptor Kerry Moore.
This fountain in the desert was created with an inverted stop action photograph of a water faucet by Harold Edgerton.
In this proposal I merged four shots taken from the same position of the hanging of the Lincoln assassination conspirators. The condemned appear to be able to watch their own death in this manipulation of time in the same space.

This was my submission for a competition for proposals to create a monument celebrating the triumph of the West in the Cold War. I choose Las Vegas, the one American city where untethered capitalism reigns, as the location for this large scale work. This proposal features a symbolic chess board, chopped up strategic bombers, disabled Russian tanks, the Berlin Wall, and a sculpture of the first nano-second of an atomic explosion. I was shocked I didn’t win this competition.
